Dog Sled Races and More
We love what we do and we want to invite you to join us! Take a tour of our kennel or take a ride on the trails in the sled, you’re invited. Double E Kennel has teamed up with Backcountry Warriors to offer some amazing dog sled tours for the day and overnight packages as well. We love all children, with and without disabilities. Our dogs are known for their therapeutic effect, we encourage interaction between our dogs and children from ages 0 to 100! Alan uses this time to teach about the dogs, history of Alaska, dog sled races and the rich history of the Iditarod. Dog sled events are terrific events to plan for company and homeschool field trips, families and friends too! Check out our Dog Sled Tour page for more info.
We race with a purpose, take care of each other, our dogs, and have a ton of fun doing it! One of the opportunities dog racing has given us is meeting the most fantastic people with their own stories. We take these stories to heart and share what we have learned. We dedicate our miles, whether training or racing, to “Pediatric Diseases”. What that means is we educate everyone about pediatric diseases that children and families face from day to day. While running the Iditarod, Alan educates the villages about this, and tells people, “Get a second opinion if you aren’t comfortable with the first.” Children are our future and they are precious. Whether for friends, family or the general public, we love showing everyone the beautiful scenery in Alaska, and we welcome your questions! Of course, all the dogs love to be loved on and want to run. There is nothing like taking a dog sled ride or standing on the runners of the sled, hearing the snow crunching beneath the runners, hearing the dogs breathing, watching the snowflakes gently falling all around. Nothing like being out with the team at night seeing the Northern Lights come out and dance. Nothing like being bundled up and sitting in the sled just about ready to fall asleep for the peace and the serenity and all of a sudden the dogs decide to go around a corner faster than usual – OOPS! You better hang on! These experiences are like nothing else and available for you too, check out our Dog Sled Tour page, or Contact Us!
